A petition asking Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek to reject the Toondah Harbour proposal was launched at the 2023 Walk for Toondah held on Mothers Day.
The petition was signed the old-fashioned way at the event held on Mothers Day, with people signing on sheets of paper before joining the large procession walking through Cleveland’s central business district.
Now this same petition is available on-line, for many more people to sign.
The Honorable Tanya Plibersek,
Minister for the Environment and Water
We the undersigned ask that you use your Ministerial power and reject Walker Group’s destructive real estate proposal at Toondah Harbour.
By rejecting the proposal you will send a loud and clear message that Australia upholds its national and international obligations to conserve, protect and restore nature, including Ramsar Wetlands and endangered plants and animals.
Your decision to reject the proposal will also demonstrate the Government’s commitment to the livability, quality of life and well established community values of the residents and ratepayers of Redland City.
