Walker Group has submitted its Toondah Harbour EIS to the Federal Government for decision by the Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.

We understand that the document was formally submitted on 27 November 2023.

The Toondah EIS (Environment Impact Statement) will now be considered by the Federal Environment Department who will then submit a report for decision by Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.

The Toondah EIS will be considered in accordance with Australia’s national environment laws known as the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation 1999 Act which is usually referred to as the EPBC Act.

The EPBC Act includes a requirement that the Federal Environment Minister decide on a project assessed by EIS within 40 business days.

The EPBC Act also includes provisions which allow the Minister to extend the time for making decisions.

Now that Walker Group has submitted its EIS, the community has an opportunity to review their work and identify any errors, omissions or inadequacies in the information that has been put forward for consideration by the Federal Government.

Information submitted by Walker Group for consideration by the Federal Government appears to comprise:

We also prepared a consolidated version of the Draft EIS which many people found useful when key word searching.

Walker Group has now republished its Draft EIS and its republished version can be found here.
