Residents meeting to discuss Ausbuild’s planned 276 lot subdivision in Victoria Pt

Nearly 100 residents concerned about Ausbuild’s plans for a 276 lot development in Victoria Point attended a meeting on Saturday 4 July. Cr Julie Talty explain the development planning and assessment process for this proposed subdivision. Concerns raised included traffic impacts, separation from nearby poultry farming activities, loss of koala habitat and lack of a masterplan for the area.
Cr Talty pointed out that because the proposed development was within the SEQ regional Plan urban footprint, development was not prohibited and Council has to accept and assess the application. She also made the point that this application is still at the information gathering stage and it may be some time before any formal process of public consultation is advertised.
The proposed development is ROL005880 located at 21-29 and 31 Clay Gully Road and at 39 Brendan Way in Victoria Point. More information is available at PD On Line and the Redlands Means Business facebook page.

Interesting story regarding the Ausbuild application for development in Clay Gully Road Victoria Point. The application is for 276 residential lots, whilst Cr Talty claims it is inside the urban footprint the zoning for this lot is low density 6000sqm lots not 300sqm lots.
I have to wonder whether some councillors understand the SEQ Regional Plan, as quite clearly the document says that some land inside the Urban footprint will continue to be retained as Rural non urban, not every metre of land will be covered in concrete. This is an over development of the area and I have to wonder what the agenda is.
