Help us get information on Toondah Harbour

Redlands2030 is seeking community support in finding out why Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg didn’t declare Walker Group’s proposed Toondah dredging project to be “clearly unacceptable”. Environmental impacts of Walker Group’s proposed Toondah Harbour dredging project will be assessed under Federal environment laws following a decision by Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg on 8 June 2017. Redlands branch of the National Trust

Redlands could soon have its own branch of the National Trust of Queensland if the efforts of a small working group come to fruition later this month. Setting up a local branch of the National Trust would provide the Redlands community with a broad based organisation focused on heritage issues across the City. Redlands has […]

Spring cleaning time and Redlands2030 is doing a fund raising GARAGE SALE with proceeds to be shared with the Cleveland Scout Group.

We are in need of items for the Garage Sale and Volunteers to help run the day.

We have a large trailer available and can arrange pick up of any items if needed, or else items can be dropped off at the Cleveland Scout Hall on the Friday evening (3-4pm) or on the morning of the Garage Sale.

PLEASE REPLY if you have any items you care to donate or to put your hand up to volunteer your support i.e. response to: theReporter@Redlands2030.net

More importantly come along on Saturday and meet the Redlands2030 crew and supporters.

All proceeds for Redlands2030 will be put to the campaigns like stopping the ridiculous efforts to build 3600 apartments on reclaimed land in (that is right IN the waters)  Moreton Bay.  The Toondah PDA has grown to current scale without a proper planning framework and without (any) public consultation.

So, in respect of the Toondah PDA we are calling on the Council, the State Government and the Federal government to “Stop the Rort; Fix the port”.

To help us carry the fight forward we need some modest funding and proceeds from this Garage sale will help.

No need for mainland Rural Fire Brigade

A comprehensive report by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), presented formally to Council on 26 July made many recommendations but did not suggest the need for establishment of a Rural Fire Brigade (RFB) for mainland Redland City. In a letter dated 21 July (but only recently made publicly available) the QFES Commissioner advised Mayor […]

Redland’s Biggest ‘PHISHING’ Trip with Laming

We have collectively been showered by yet another of Andrew Laming’s expensive and self-serving ‘surveys’, which he touts as “Redland’s Biggest”. As if size trumps value/integrity!  (“Never mind the quality, feel the width…,” as the old vaudeville line goes.) This latest in an unfortunate series of Laming’s amateurish and dubious data-gathering exercises is foisted on us […]
